Aedas has again commissioned by the City University of Hong Kong to design and construct a new building to accommodate education and incubation activities of CityU in Shenzhen, namely the CityU Shenzhen Outpost Building.

The Outpost Building is located at the Shenzhen Virtual University Science Park in Nam Shan District and will accommodate a total GFA of approximately 12,500sq.m.

The designs of building on one hand comply with the planning guidelines of Institute of Shenzhen, and also express the unique identity of City U. The introduction of curtain wall built from a 4 stories glass box Atrium not only provides a grand entrance and exhibition space to the Outpost Building, but also act as a platform to inter-relate the different program and activities within the area. The sculptural expression of the two theatres punching out from the Atrium and sitting on water feature shows a unique style and character to the City U Outpost Building. The high-tech curtain wall and window wall with different profile of architectural features on the building facade demonstrate the modern architecture together with high environmental friendly concern. It is anticipated that the building will be completed at operate in mid 2009.
