As Aedas’ Creative Director, David Simister is responsible for the leadership of the Aedas Design Quality Initiative. Although based in Manchester, he frequently travels to all Aedas offices where he organises project reviews and helps to develop ideas and concepts. Much of his efforts have helped to win award-winning competition designs for projects including the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, the Huddersfield Sports Centre and Cliffe Hill Primary School.

David is a long standing Civic Trust Assessor and has served as an RIBA Awards judge. He won the CABE Building for Life Award and the RIBA Award for Chorlton Park Housing whilst at Stephenson Bell. Recently appointed External Examiner to Northumbria School of Architecture in Newcastle, David also maintains links with other Schools of Architecture. He is a member of ARB and RIBA and a Fellow of RIAS.
