Located at Terminal 4 Kwai Chung, the Hong Kong International Distribution Center has an area of 506,743m2. It consists of 10 levels of container storage & warehousing with full truck access throughout the premises. The form of the building is derivative of its function.
The building illustrates an aesthetic solution to a utilitarian development, creating an articulated architectural statement able to withstand exposure to its marine environment.
The elevation design is a layering of wall planes and structural building elements which is complemented through the use of a colour combination of blues, greys and whites.
