Consisting of 153 standard rooms and 6 theme suites, a lobby, business centre and two F&B outlets, the unique design for this small boutique hotel is quirky and fun, yet homely & stylish. Playing with illusion - real/ fake and traditional/modern, the standard room design emulates and interprets the grandness of a traditional bedroom filled with antiques & family heirlooms.
The concept was to make the room look and feel as unlike a typical hotel room as possible through disguising the amenities and introducing ‘antique’ elements. Printed gilded picture frames climb the wall and on over the ceiling. The fake fireplace conceals all the AV equipment and the framed mirror conceals the TV. Sitting on the mantelpiece a pair of antique Staffordshire china dogs are reinvented as lamps.
The 6 theme suites are Royale, Chic, Safari, Liaison, Nordic and Mirage. Royale takes its inspiration from the glamour of 1940’s Hollywood; Chic is modern and sophisticated; Safari is designed as a Bedouin tent; Liaison is a romantic getaway; Nordic is a cool icy kingdom; and Mirage takes the surreal theme of the hotel.
