Austrian Delegation visits Halewood | Aedas | News & Events | 19/5/2011 | 19/5/2011

An Austrian delegation from the Austrian Institute for Schools and Sport Facilities [ÖISS] visited Aedas’ Halewood Centre for Learning on 18 May as part of a best practice visit to the UK.

The delegation consisting of 25 experts in school design from different national organisations visited Halewood CfL as part of a tour of best practice educational institutions in England and Scotland looking at interesting examples of architecture, pedagogy and sustainability.

Opened in March 2009 Halewood CfL is the largest of the seven new Centres for Learning in Knowsley and the first of its kind in the UK.  These unique facilities aimed at wide scale local regeneration and community reengagement through education set a new standard in educational provision.
