10/6/2009

Aedas project EcoPark Administration Building is honoured by the BCI Asia Top 10 Green Design Award 2009. The project is designed by Max Connop, Director of Sustainability, Asia.

EcoPark Administration Building lies at the centre of the Eco Park, which is located in Tuen Mun and is designed for local sustainable, recycling and environmental industries of Hong Kong. As a multi-purpose building, it comprises a visitor/education centre, product gallery, meeting room, resources centre and offices. Being sustainable and economical, the building was designed with a holistic green approach. The various eco-friendly features include solar panel, light funnels to increase natural lighting, a grass roof, and the insulated metal panel cladding system which enhances thermal performance. As the icon of the building, the terracotta louvers also serve to provide solar shading.

The BCI Asia Top 10 Awards celebrates the achievements of architecture firms in Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. It is judged by an international jury of green building experts.
