Christ the King Centre for Learning in Knowsley won first prize in the ‘Inspiring Design – Schools’ category, and a highly commended award in the ‘Best Healthy Learning Environment’ category at the 2009 British Council for School Environments (BCSE) awards for the UK’s best practice in design and construction of schools. Knowsley also won the Judges’ Award for its ‘visionary approach to involving a wide range of stakeholders, innovating in the design process, and providing a consistent set of learning spaces tailored to a strong vision.’
170 entries were received across 13 categories at the awards held as part of National School Environments Week. Winners were announced at a ceremony at the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal FC on Wednesday June 24th.
