Two Project Wins at MIPIM Asia Awards

21/11/2011

Aedas are delighted to announce that CX 2-1 in Singapore and Olympia 66 in Dalian, PRC, were honoured with Best Futura Projects (Gold) and Best Chinese Futura Projects (Bronze) respectively at the prestigious MIPIM Asia Awards 2011hosted at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, on 16 November (Wednesday).

Designed by Andrew Bromberg, Executive Director at Aedas, CX 2-1 is a path breaking sustainable architecture in Singapore serving as the regional headquarters of a world renowned entertainment company. The innovative tapering horseshoe form exudes a visionary appeal with its sleek appearance and is raised above ground for privacy of the workspaces above. There are planting and green terraces on the exposed wing faces, and the open space is landscaped in a natural and overgrown manner.

Olympia 66 is 221,900 sq m retail development in Dalian that hails with a contemporary Chinese overtone. Taking inspiration from the auspicious Tai Chi twin carps, which are traditional Chinese symbols embleming wealth and abundance, the architectural form exhibits a dynamic loop with circulation flowing through a continuous chain of retail and atrium activities, creating an exciting and diverse lifestyle experience. Located at one of the most prominent commercial avenues in the city, Olympia 66 will become one of the iconic gestures that define a city destination.

This year marks the 5th edition of the Awards competition, which recognizes outstanding real estate projects in the Asia Pacific. The Award winners were ranked by votes from the MIPIM Asia Delegates participating in the three-day conference, giving the winners gold, silver or bronze status. Overall there were 80 submissions from 15 countries. Aedas are honoured that two of our projects stood out from the keen competition, testifying Aedas’ outstanding design capabilities.
