Aedas have produced this masterplan proposal for the vital area around the Soviet ‘Palace of Culture’ in the heart of Warsaw, as a contribution to the ongoing public consultation process.

The masterplan demonstrates how the site can be reconnected with the surrounding city. It also proposes an urban composition which is respectful towards the ‘Palace of Culture’, without reinforcing its monumental dominance.

The proposal includes a two storey covered shopping street which for the first time provides an unbroken route from the central railway station to the busiest city-centre metro station.
