Aedas and LAMDA Development are thrilled to announce that The Ellinikon Mall was awarded Winner under RLI Future Project category at this year’s Global RLI Awards. With a close collaboration with LAMDA Development, Aedas Global Design Principals Christine Lam and David Clayton have created an urban oasis for Greece at The Ellinikon.

Transformed from the former Athens International Airport, The Ellinikon is a world-leading mixed-use development on a prime seafront location, reinstating the standards of the Mediterranean coastal urban living. The Ellinikon Mall is situated at the Eastern edge of The Ellinikon district, in a prime location in Athens due to easy access from Vouliagmenis Avenue and the proximity to the Metropolitan Park and the sea. Ιt will be the largest mall in Greece, a next generation commercial destination, consisting of a diverse range of retail, F&B’s and leisure, as well as a retail park with big-box stores. Right next to it, an iconic mixed-use tower houses a hotel and apartments. It is a pioneering ecosystem that introduces a new lifestyle philosophy in shopping and entertainment. The design calls for a timeless landmark that is innovative and dynamic with strong visual presence captivating the visitor at first sight. The architectural style adopts the new interpretation of blending contemporary, sustainable design which integrates state of the art technology.

The project takes full advantage of its adjacency to infrastructure where the roads network and the subway intersect to provide ease of transport to the new urban hub. The mall design provides for excellent multi-level pedestrian connections from and to its surroundings, such as The Ellinikon Park, the nearby commercial and residential buildings, and the neighborhood.
