At this year’s INawards 2025, we are pleased to announce that Aedas-designed Seattle Children’s Science Inspiration Lab has received an Honor Award under the INEducation, Early category. The awards celebrate the design excellence of the projects delivering world-class design solutions for the community.
The Seattle Children’s Science Inspiration Lab is designed to respond to children’s needs with interactive lessons that bring scientific concepts to life. It is committed to minimise the barriers from low-income, minority and rural communities, providing hands-on science experiences supporting STEM education.
The design features six slide-out lab bench bays, enabling easy movement with instructional sightlines throughout the length of the interior. Identified by a vibrant HPL (High Pressure Laminate) color surround, the bays establish assignment, resulting in a stimulating environment meant to enhance mood, creativity, and complex problem-solving.
The Lab will provide transformative science education to 16,000 elementary students and 2,500 community members every year, making science education more equitable and inspiring a relentless spirit of inquiry in this generation of children, and the next.
INawards is an awards ceremony honoring design excellence in interior design and interior architecture projects representing achievement in creativity and innovation across the Northern Pacific region.
