We are pleased to announce that three Aedas-designed projects are recognised at World Architecture Festival (WAF) China this year. This recognition highlights our dedication to creating world-class design solutions that are tailored to the needs of cities and communities in China.
1. Shenzhen Construction Industry Ecological & Intelligent Valley Headquarters Phase 1 Urban Planning and Architectural Design (Jointly-designed by Aedas – Executive Director Kelvin Hu and Founder and Chairman Keith Griffiths, and Shenzhen Capol International & Associates Co., Ltd and MLA+B.V.) – Best Commercial/Industrial Design of the Year 2024
Located in Daiyuen Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Science-Education City, the project enjoys rich natural resources that are backed by Yingju Mountain and Shenxianliang. The surrounding expressways have divided the plot into five hence scattering the functions. To enhance the connectivity, the planning needs to efficiently allocate the offices, an international exhibition and conference centre, laboratories and amenities for retail and social services.
2. B07 Plot of Chengdu Jiaozi Park Business District, Chengdu, PRC (designed by Global Design Principal Dr. Andy Wen and Executive Director Yijun Qian) – Outstanding Commercial/Industrial Design of the Year 2024
Jiaozi Park Business District is a mecca for financial and technological industries, surrounded by various transportation modes, as well as a stunning riverscape. The B07 plot is located in the core area of the Jiaozi Park business district, an important city node where the landscape axis of Jiaozi Park and the urban axis of Tianfu Avenue meet. The new headquarter office building with perfect work-live balance will become an important engine for the district development in the future.
3. The Huanggang Port New Development Project, Shenzhen, PRC (Jointly-designed by Aedas – Founder and Chairman Keith Griffiths, Executive Director Chris Chen, and Shenzhen CAPOL International & Associates Co., Ltd.; Client: Bureau of Public Works of Shenzhen Municipality) – Outstanding Infrastructure Design of the Year 2024
The Huanggang Port's geographical location makes it not only the gateway to Shenzhen but also a vital channel that connects Shenzhen, Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The objective is to transform the Huanggang Port through a set of immigration and three-dimensional integrated transport hubs to achieve effective inter-Greater Bay Area and cross-border connectivity. The design is complemented by a series of green space, sunken plaza, to connect Futian Port, New Huangang Port, and the central axis of Shenzhen-HK Cooperation Zone. Through the new design's seamless connectivity, the port will be a gateway to Shenzhen and fulfil the city's changing transportation requirements while granting the community greenery and public space.
Through organising the annual events integrating awards judging, design forums, exhibitions, networking events, and various kinds of activities and events, WAF China is dedicated to establishing a professional and diversified platform to strengthen the connections between China and the global design industry, aiming to create more opportunities for talented designers around the world to share their design ideas.
