Four Aedas projects shone bright at the International Property Awards 2020

At the International Property Awards 2020, four Aedas projects crowned best in their respective categories. They are:

1. Xi’an Nan-Fei-Hong Phase 2 Mixed-use Development, Xi’an, China (by Global Design Principal Christine Lam and Global Design Principal David Clayton)
World’s Best Architecture, Best International Mixed-Use Architecture

Xi’an Nan-Fei-Hong Phase 2 Mixed-use Development is located to the south of the ancient Xi’an city. The project comprises two millennia Grade-A office towers with a 5-star hotel, connected by a retail podium. An ‘Urban Oasis’ is reified by leaning into the rhythm of the urban fabric and introducing a layered vertical green experience at the podium. The architectural language is extended to the elegant cylindrical form of the office towers, conceptualised as the ‘City of Flower’. The biophilic design and expressive use of colours serves to add verve to Xi’an’s dour and monochrome urban image, elevating the standards for experiential retail and lifestyle destination.

2. Nanjing Xin Jie Kou Suning Plaza, Nanjing, China (by Chairman and Global Design Principal Keith Griffiths and Global Design Principal Leo Liu)
Best International Commercial High Rise Architecture

Nanjing Xinjiekou Suning Plaza is located at the core of Nanjing Xinjiekou Business District. Inspired by the Chinese traditional art of seal carving, patterns resembling engraving are inscribed onto the façade. Office, commercial retail and hotel are marshalled in the 360-meter super high-rise building. Suning’s scrupulous and genuine corporate spirit emanates from the development, as Nanjing’s cultural gravitas reverberates.

3. Shenzhen Suibao Center Urban Renewal Project, Shenzhen, China (by Global Design Principal Christine Lam and Global Design Principal David Clayton)
Best International Residential High Rise Architecture

Situated in Shenzhen, the development, renamed as Shirble - The Prime, consists of three serviced apartment towers, a 250-meter office tower, a retail podium and a sky park. To reflect Shenzhen’s prominent role in China’s advancement, the project’s structure adopts the form of Peng, the King of birds. The soaring imagery, coupled with the elegant design, speaks to the landmark vision of the Suibao Exhibition Center, a space that encompasses residential, office, and entertainment.

4. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port Passenger Clearance Building, Hong Kong, China (by Chairman and Global Design Principal Keith Griffiths, Global Design Principal Max Connop and Richard Paul, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (Joint Venture Designer))
Best Public Service Architecture, Asia Pacific

Aedas and RSHP are the Joint Venture Designers for the Passenger Clearance Building (PCB) of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port. The building houses the customs and immigration facilities for travelers leaving and entering Hong Kong via the bridge. By effectively linking Zhuhai and Macau to Hong Kong through bridging the West and East Pearl River Delta in China, it fosters the flow of people, goods, capital and information amongst the 11 cities of the Greater Bay Area. Beyond that, PCB is energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Designed in the form of waves, the roof of the building emulates the undulating flow of the ocean and serves to let through abundant rays of natural light.
