Double win for Aedas at 2019 ICSC Asia-Pacific Shopping Center Awards

Aedas projects celebrate a double win at 2019 ICSC Asia-Pacific Shopping Center Awards - Hong Leong City Center and T.O.P - This is Our Place won Silver Awards for Design and Development - New Developments and Design and Development - Renovation/Expansions respectively at this year’s ICSC Asia-Pacific Shopping Center Awards.

Designed by Global Design Principal Dr Andy Wen and Chairman and Global Design Principal Keith Griffiths, Suzhou Hong Leong City Center is located at the scenic Jinji lakeside of Suzhou city. The design extends Suzhou’s breath¬taking landscape – its hills, its water and its picturesque urban fabric in built form. The Commercial Podium and four Tow¬ers embrace the tea culture of the city and evoke reminiscence of Suzhou’s famous terraced tea plantations. The design is to be accessible and porous, with a plethora of programs and functions littered along all periphery.

Designed by Executive Director Cary Lau, T.O.P This is Our Place in Hong Kong transforms a 1980s former government complex into a modern office and retail-entertainment hub, bringing a new character to the playful and diverse district of Mong Kok in Hong Kong. The building features a pixelated, colourful podium facade that reflects the signature palette of the underground station connected to the basement level. Targeting the young and young-at-heart, the new atrium provides gathering and performance spaces and connects to a fifth-floor open air performance area. Aedas Interiors was also involved in the design of the office portion.

The ICSC Asia-Pacific Shopping Center Awards Program recognizes excellence within the region's shopping center industry. The Design and Development category of the award acknowledges retail properties for their overall design qualities and creativity in development, through renovation or expansion of an existing property or innovative design of a new retail project.
