Aedas receives 2 remarkable accomplishments at CTBUH Awards

Aedas has received two Award of Excellence Winners under the Best Tall Building by Height (100-199 and 200-299 meters) categories at CTBUH Awards this year. The awards celebrate the creative best and foremost from the region’s design industry.

1. Chongqing Gaoke Group Ltd Office Project, Chongqing, PRC (designed by Global Design Principal Ken Wai) – Award of Excellence Winner in Best Tall Building by Height (200-299 meters) category
Completed in 2022, Aedas-designed Chongqing Gaoke Group Ltd Office Project utilises a simple elegant form. It is derived from the northern light, which creates the twisting shape of the 180m tall tower to form expressive double-curved surfaces on the building façades. Vertical lines accentuate the minimalistic form and through the effect of reflection and refraction from the glass create a design statement that celebrates light as the major tool to define architecture.

2. Hangzhou One Future, Hangzhou, PRC (designed by Executive Director Wei Li and Global Design Principal Ken Wai) – Award of Excellence Winner in Best Tall Building by Height (100-199 meters) category
Located in the heart of Hangzhou Ring Road, the project is conveniently accessible with double metro lines, well-developed transport system and surrounding key developments. The design for the complex integrates office and residential areas within a narrow site. It is a humane design that creates an exterior-interior connection and maximises the spatial experience, forming a live-work environment that equipped with efficient layout planning.

The CTBUH Awards program honors projects and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability at the highest and broadest level. The Awards aspire to provide a more comprehensive and sophisticated view of these important structures, while advocating for improvements in every aspect of performance, including those that have the greatest positive impact on the individuals who use these buildings and the cities they inhabit.
