We are pleased to announce that Aedas-designed Pragati Maidan has received the Best Integrated Conference and Exhibition Project of India at Global Smart Build Summit (GSBS) 6th Edition and #Time2leap Awards. This feat highlights our dedication to creating world-class design solutions that are tailored to the needs of cities and communities around the world.
In Joint Venture with Arcop Associates, Aedas designed the 123.5 acres site which was re-planned to design a world-class venue for the city. Known as the International Exhibition & Convention Centre (IECC), the project will provide over 100,000 sq m of exhibition space with a Convention Centre at a planned capacity of 13,500 people.
The Convention Center was designed as a contemporary Indian icon, showing the nation’s approach to its future while respecting timeless Indian architectural traditions, such as the use of circular geometry for buildings of public and civic importance, the integration of water and stepped public spaces, colonnades, use of ancient symbology, plus locally sourced materials and traditional colours.
The main Plenary Hall is elevated from the ground by freeing space below to a Public open-air Amphitheatre and other conference spaces that connect with a large Multifunctional Hall with a combined capacity of 7,000 people in a single, seamless space.
The main Congress Halls and its pre-function areas offer a new way to observe New Delhi from above its tree canopy, giving the city a new perspective to look at itself, making now evident for everyone its beautiful ancient domes, the monumental old Delhi, and its new fast-growing skyline. A new ‘Window to Delhi’ has been created.
#Time2leap Awards has garnered the affirmations of being one of the most non-biased and spectacular award shows of the industry. The awards include and celebrate excellent projects of infrastructure, warehousing and logistics.
