Architecture is the realisation of design that touches people’s hearts.

With tremendous talent in architecture, Ed Lam has received multiple design awards in architecture school, namely the HKIA Student Medal 2002 and the Certificate of Glory 2002, when he graduated as the best Master of Architecture in his year from The University of Hong Kong. Ed has over 20 years of professional experience and continuously generates many innovative and iconic architecture which have won design excellence awards such as MIPIM and APPA.

Ed is an Executive Director of Aedas. He has developed considerable design expertise in both Hong Kong and China, upon a wide spectrum of projects including urban design, office, hotel, residential, and particularly retail and mixed-use developments. His retail project MOKO has received commendations from International Property Awards, Asia Pacific Shopping Center Award, Asia Pacific Property Awards, Global RLI Awards, and HKIA Annual Awards. His St Regis Hotel Chengdu has also received commendations as Best International Hotel Architecture from International Property Awards.

When undertaking designs, Ed prefers to establish an open dialogue with what exist and what are deficient, seeing what can the site data be related to while looking for common contents that make things agree with each other. For him, an iconic form and sensual lines are not the only focus of architecture design; an architecture need to embody culture and a sense of place as well.
