Aedas shines at the Design Middle East Awards KSA 2024

Aedas has received two awards from the Design Middle East Awards KSA 2024 – winner awards for Trojena Ski Village and The Red Palace Boutique Hotel under the Best Future Project and Best Adaptive Reuse categories. The awards celebrate the creative best and foremost from the region’s design industry.

1. Trojena Ski Village, NEOM, Saudi Arabia (designed by Aedas Middle East Global Design Principal Ignacio Gomez) – Winner Award in Best Future Project Category
Trojena Ski Village, part of the NEOM mega project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it envisioned as the first sub-zero snow destination and outdoor ski resort in the Gulf offering year-round adventure sports. This futuristic, world-class destination is sculpted to respond to the natural topography. The 2,400 meter high altitude Ski Village will house six distinctive clusters that blend real with virtual architectural and engineering innovations, including ski slopes on the roof, to create a destination like no other. Offering exceptional human-centric experiences, the elevated mixed-use village will comprise of hotels, commercial spaces, entertainment, sports facilities, and residential accommodation.

2. The Red Palace Boutique Hotel, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (designed by Aedas Middle East Global Design Principal Ignacio Gomez) – Winner Award in Best Adaptive Reuse Project Category
A recent win, this landmark project involves the transformation of the historic Red Palace, it served as the residence of King Saud during his reign. Subsequently, for over three decades, it functions as the headquarters of the Council of Ministers. The palace will be revamped to offer more than 70 keys, 8 spa suites, and 5 high-end restaurants and cafes. Blending traditional Najdi elements with Art Deco references and modern luxury comfort, The Red Palace pays homage to its rich past while reflecting its significance in the present and future.

The awards celebrate the creative best and foremost from the region’s design industry, honouring the year’s top architect, designers, projects, and firms. The award ceremony with various categories will strive to recognise the individual excellence, company strengths, and project success.
