We are excited to share that Aedas-designed Pragati Maidan has received a Bronze award under Best Infrastructure, Community & Civic Project category at the MIPIM Asia Awards 2023. This achievement highlights our dedication to creating world-class design solutions that are tailored to the needs of cities, and communities around the world.

Aedas designed the 123-acre site of Pragati Maidan, providing over 100,000 sq m of exhibition space, with multi-purpose halls and a Convention Centre for 13,500 people – creating a world-class venue for exhibitions and conventions showcasing India's approach to the future while respecting architectural traditions.

Circular geometry depicts equal respect for the public and has been used historically for buildings of civic importance in India. The selected materials, colour palette, stepped platforms, arranged trees, water features, and the colonnades are a reference to Delhi's past and its transformation for the future.

The development responds to elements: the wind, the sun, and variables including sightlines to iconic locations, the axes that continue the Lutyens’ masterplan, the Vaastu Principles, and public transport networks.

The Civic Plaza creates interactions and memories, and was inspired by a painting of two fish representing the Yamuna and Ganga rivers. The main Plenary Hall is elevated from the ground for security reasons, flood prevention, and more importantly to create a ‘Window to Delhi’. The complex design process involved many stakeholders and responding to extreme constraints, like providing the highest security for VIPs - while granting access to the mass public.

MIPIM Asia Awards was established in 2007, which celebrates excellence and innovation among the very best of the Asian real estate industry. The internationally renowned competition honours the most efficient, sustainable and visionary projects, completed or yet to be built, within the industry in Asia-Pacific.
