As part of Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of his London theatres, the Gielgud theatre (formerly the Globe theatre), has been completely refurbished in period style by Arts Team. With its’ sister theatre, the Queen’s it forms part of an imposing urban block on Shaftsbury Avenue. The building exterior has been cleaned, newly designed illuminated signage added and the original canopy over the entrance has been restored and painted. The beautiful entrance foyer has been revived with a new decorative scheme. New sponsors rooms have been created.The auditorium has been enhanced, with mouldings added to walls and ceilings. New rear boxes added at the back of the circle have also helped to enhance the intimacy of the beautiful auditorium. Bespoke seating has been installed and tiering remodelled to enhance sight lines. All soft furnishings, finishes and lighting are new.
