Akesobio Clinical Research and Development Asia Pacific Headquarters

Guangzhou / PRC

Aedas Founder and Chairman Keith Griffiths and Executive Director Fiona Chen led the team to deliver an Asia Pacific Headquarters for Akesobio on the International Biotech Island in Guangzhou, creating an upright and unique building that integrates advanced technology and nature.

The project breaks away from the constraints of traditional park layouts, placing large spaces such as laboratories and conference halls on the podium, forming a landscaped base, and creating a rooftop garden along the river. The R&D tower stands on the east side, gracefully receding from the riverbank, shaping a harmonious skyline relationship with the environment.

The design pays great attention to the integration of the Akeso’s corporate culture, the building and the nature, marking the headquarters an urban icon for the city.
