ACEN is a renewable energy provider of solar, wind and geothermal electricity. Their request was for us to embody the spirit of what they do in the physical design of their new office. Our solution was to use the “energy” of electricity flow in the design of the flooring, walls, and lighting in the public areas while the work areas are influenced by the shape of wind turbines in the design of the workstations and lighting.The three floors are linked by an open stair which is adjacent to staff social areas on each floor. The middle floor features the “Melting Pot” which is used for a variety of activities ranging from staff lunches and town halls to investor updates and client events.
