Aedas Global Design Principal Andy Wen Speaks at BAU Congress China 2017

Invited by architecture magazine Bauwelt, an opinion leader among German architectural publications, Aedas Global Design Principal Andy Wen attended the BAU Congress China 2017 in Shanghai in November 2017, and delivered a speech titled ‘Cultural Sustainability in New Urbanism‘.

In the process of urbanisation, developing a city’s uniqueness with timeless architecture while at the same time embracing its culture, environment, tradition and innovation is important. Andy used his three projects as examples, including the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Central Building in Suzhou, Taipei European School Yangmingshan Campus Redevelopment Project in Taipei, and Xinhua Bookstore Group Jiefangbei Book City Mixed-use Project in Chongqing, in exploring how to create designs which appropriately respond to their locations and cultural context with sustainability concepts and innovative ideas.
