2018 is the Canada-China Year of Tourism (CCYT). Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited China and unveiled the official CCYT logo with Jinzao Li, Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration, at an event at Aedas-designed Sina Plaza in Beijing.
‘Limitless’ is the core design concept for Sina Plaza, the principal office of Sina Corporation in China, and the building reflects the infinity symbol ‘ ∞ ’. Drawing from the Chinese architectural heritage of courtyards, the building frames two major open courtyard gardens. At the centre of the building is the main entrance and a focal point – the ‘Eye of Sina’ – an atrium space that serves as the main vertical circulation hub and features a 12-metre high conical media screen which displays the latest information on Sina.com and Weibo.
